As many of you know, Sarah underwent life saving surgery in May. This surgery was necessary to keep pain at bay, increase her stamina, and prevent her from becoming wheel-chair bound or worse in the years ahead. She is doing remarkably well. She has had very little pain, learned to walk again unassisted and is learning to navigate the world around her by completing three hours of physical therapy each day.
Sarah had been working hard to save up for surgery, doing everything she could to budget and plan for this life altering procedure. No one prepares you though for the uphill battle of constantly fighting to receive the care you thought was guaranteed. The countless phone calls, emails and in person discussions have been a heavy burden as insurance costs were much higher than expected, and the surgery itself needed to be done sooner than planned, which meant additional hotel expenses for her and her mother. In addition, intensive physical therapy directly after surgery required many self paid hours of care. All of these unforeseen costs have taken a toll on her finances.
Sarah likes to help others and never imagined herself in the position of need. But she understands that this step is necessary so that she doesn’t walk through this alone. This is where you come in. Any help big or small would aid in alleviating the stress of financial concern.
We’re hoping to raise funds to cover:
Unexpected out of pocket costs
Increased insurance costs
Physical Therapy and follow up care
If you can’t help financially, please consider sharing and as always, please pray that Sarah continues to heal. She’s determined to use this time to build strength, gain balance, and fully heal, but the financial strain is holding her back from fully focusing on her recovery.
Thank you for considering helping Sarah. Your encouragement, financial help and prayers mean more than we can express.
