On Saturday, June 14th, Neil suffered a massive heart attack.. the doctors call “the widowmaker” …with a 100% blockage in his artery. We were told it’s nothing short of a miracle that he survived. Thanks to quick medical intervention, two life-saving stents (and maybe just a bit of his legendary stubbornness), Neil is still here.. cracking jokes, charming the nurses, and making us all laugh even when our hearts were breaking.
Neil is only 34 years old. He’s a loving father of two and works full-time at a treatment center supporting kids who need care, guidance, and someone who truly sees them. He is absolutely incredible at his job, and the kids he works with will miss him deeply while he recovers. Neil is the kind of person who lights up every room he enters…always making people laugh and lifting spirits. Even in the ER, he had the nurses and doctors smiling. That’s just who he is!! He’s also an amazing partner, a loyal and supportive friend, and the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation.
Now it’s Neil who needs our support.
He’ll be off work for several months as he undergoes cardiac rehab and starts the long journey toward recovery. As the sole provider for his family, this sudden medical crisis has placed an enormous financial burden on him.. one no one should have to carry while trying to heal a broken heart. On top of that, his post-heart attack medication will be very costly, making things even harder.
Neil is determined to make the changes needed for a healthier life.. not just for himself, but for his children and everyone who loves him. Despite a family history of heart problems, he’s committed to healing and staying strong for the long haul.
We’re starting this fundraiser to help lift even a small part of the weight off his shoulders. The less stress Neil has to carry, the better chance he has at a full and lasting recovery.
If you’re able to donate or even just share this fundraiser, it would mean the world to Neil and all of us who love him. He’s got a long road ahead, but we know he’ll face it the same way he does everything: with heart, humor, and a lot of strength.
Thank you for helping us take care of someone who’s always taken care of others. ❤️
