Hello! If you don’t know me, my name is Brianna. If you do know me, you might have an idea as to what’s been going on in my life.
As a general recap, I moved in March. As if that wasn’t big enough of a change for me, I am currently trying to change employers so I can work a full-time schedule. Because I will shortly be starting my student loan repayment plan, my goal was to earn enough money to be able to spend comfortably around this, along with the other aspects of my life that I am financially responsible for.
The balance I was trying to achieve changed when I visited my dentist for my six-month physical in April. When he took my x-rays, he told me that I had something called a tooth resorption, and I had to teach myself a little biology lesson.
When a tooth receives trauma, such as accidentally being smacked in the face by an instrument during a marching band performance, the body’s cells will reprogram themselves to absorb the targeted tooth back into the body. This can either happen to baby or adult teeth. As interesting as it was to read about, I didn’t feel so lucky that it was happening to my front tooth! To keep things brief, I now have to add the cost of multiple medical procedures to my plate.
So far, I have paid for a denture for my top row of teeth and the first out of two surgeries. I have attached these receipts to the pictures in my campaign to show you that the amount of money I have paid thus far has cost me quite a bit, and the price will only climb higher in the near future. It will take about three to four months for my body to heal from the insertion of my metal implant, and assuming that everything goes smoothly, the second surgery will charge me with a very similar cost to the first.
I have defaulted to using a medical credit card in order to cover everything in a financially conscious manner. I will be paying off everything over the course of the year, but this has set my efforts to pay off my loans back by a considerable amount.
If you have read this far into my message, your time and your patience are much appreciated! It’s here where I will humbly ask for your help, whatever that looks like to you. If it involves sharing this with someone who you think can donate, that’s great! I wouldn’t want anyone here to do something that they aren’t comfortable with, but anything and everything is appreciated.
As a closing note, I would like to thank my friends and my family for helping me through this ordeal. Without you, I wouldn’t be in a place where I could receive treatment in the first place, and for that, I am forever grateful. I hope that in a year’s time, I will have my smile back and this will all be something to leave in the past.
Thank you!
