My name is Rhonda Alanis, and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend Shamiya Wright, whom I consider and love as a sister.
Shamiya is one of the kindest, most generous people I know. She has always been there first to lend a hand, offer a listening ear, or brighten up someone’s day, with just a smile. Shamiya is a Teacher’s Assistant who loves her job and her students, an amazing mother, daughter, sister, and wife. Shamiya and her family, really need our help more than ever.
Recently, Shamiya was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, High blood pressure, and Diabetes, which are all serious health issues that require urgent surgical intervention. Without this surgery, her health will continue to deteriorate affecting not only her physical well-being but every aspect of her life. She has 3 young children under the age of 12, and a husband, who is doing everything possible to see that his wife will be able to see their children, grow up, and graduate from high school and college. To see them get married and see them with their children.
The cost of surgery, medical follow-up care, and the time off work required for a healthy recovery has created an overwhelming financial burden. Despite exploring insurance and assistance options, the out-of-pocket expenses are far more than what Shamiya and her Husband Lyle can handle alone.
We are asking for your help to raise $5,000 to cover:
Surgery and hospital costs.
Post Operative care and medications.
Transportation to and from medical appointments.
Childcare for her children
Daily living expenses during recovery.
