Hi, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
I’m sharing this anonymously because of the judgment and cruelty I’ve experienced in the past. Right now, I’m homeless, in constant physical pain, and doing everything I can just to survive. I don’t have anyone I can turn to — the only people who would be there for me are currently incarcerated, and I’m doing my best to stay strong and support them during this time.
I have an urgent dental surgery scheduled for June 23rd to remove my impacted wisdom teeth. They regularly get infected, cause intense pain, are damaging the teeth around them, and are starting to affect the nerves in my jaw. I’m on Ontario Works (OW), and while they’re covering part of the cost, I still need to come up with $400 for the operating room fee — and I have no way to pay it. I only receive $330/month from OW and have just $0.70 to my name.
This surgery can’t wait. It’s the only available appointment, and OW’s coverage is time-limited. Any donation would mean the world to me and help me get the treatment I desperately need.
I know some people might say things like, “just get a job” or “you’re wasting tax dollars.” But it’s not that simple. I’ve applied and interviewed for jobs, but as many Canadians know, the job market is extremely tough right now. On top of that, I’m not in stable housing, I have pets to care for, and I struggle with serious mental health issues that make holding down work difficult. I’m trying — truly — and I’ll keep trying. I just need help breaking out of this cycle.
I was born into poverty, and I’ve been fighting to survive ever since.
I also suffer from chronic back pain, which started in my early teens and has gotten much worse since a recent car accident. I was hit at a red light by a car going 130 km/h, and the impact severely worsened my condition. I’ve been told I may have a bulging disc, and the pain often radiates down my legs and affects my mobility. Any donations I receive after covering my dental surgery will go toward physical therapy, housing, food, and medical care.
Thank you so much for reading this and for any support you can give. May you be rewarded for your kindness.
Alhamdulillah for kind-hearted people like you.
