Hi, this is Jason Townsend. While helping with the recent tornado relief efforts in Butler County, he received a severe cut on his hand. He went to the hospital where he received stitches and was released, just to go back to working on the clean-up efforts the next day. Within a day after that, Jason started feeling very ill. It became progressively worse until, at one point, he lost his ability to walk and could barely speak. After being admitted back into the VA (Jason is a veteran), it was determined that through this cut on his hand, he contracted a bacterial infection that immediately entered his bloodstream. He was given antibiotics and sent home, but the doctors still haven’t figured out the nature of the infection. After completing the antibiotics, it seemed like everything was fine for just a few days until he started getting sick again and is now going back to the hospital for the third time. If you know Jason, you know he would not ask for help, so a few of us close to him decided to do this. He cannot get out of bed at the moment and just needs help with living expenses and bills since he cannot work. Anything helps. We all thank you.
