You all know me as Victor Cautivo, guia de alta montaña from the village of Humacchucho of the Cordillera Blanca of Perú. I am grateful to have served you in some way or another.
This fundraising campaign is to help my daughter Flor receive her dialysis treatment for the coming year. My other daughter, Silvia, passed away just two months ago in March at the age of 32, leaving her husband and two children without her presence in this world. Just after Silvia passed, we discovered that Flor has only one kidney, and the level of urea contamination in her blood was so high that she nearly died. At the end of May, she was admitted to the Cayetano hospital in Lima.
The doctors immediately started her on dialysis treatment to replace her contaminated blood and restore her one kidney’s function to a healthy level. At this time, she is still in the hospital and receives dialysis three times a week. Each treatment costs S/.2,400 (approximately US$700). We hope that the treatment will be reduced to every 15 days soon and even to longer periods after that. The doctors have given a positive prognosis as long as she receives the treatment she needs.
In the meantime, we are struggling to pay for her dialysis.
We are asking for your humanitarian support to keep Flor alive and recovering. Anything you can give will help.
Note from Tim Norris: I am helping Victor with this campaign and will not take any commission. I have known Victor for over 20 years and feel his sincerity in his request. Let’s see if we can help his family.
