Our beloved friend Adam Males, a fun, lively 35-year-old from Sydney, is currently in intensive care (ICU) at St Vincent’s Hospital battling severe heart failure. He now faces the daunting prospect of needing a heart transplant to survive.
Adam has been seriously unwell for over two weeks, and his condition has left him unable to work for the foreseeable future. He is so unwell he is not able to receive visitors.
Adam’s previous employer went into administration and he lost his job just a couple of weeks before his illness. Adam was scheduled to undertake interviews with new employers but was too sick to go ahead with them. With no paid sick leave and mounting medical bills, the financial strain is growing.
Adam is a loyal friend, a cherished son and brother, and someone who always shows up for others. His family are by his side, but they can’t carry this burden alone.
Funds raised will help cover Adam’s ongoing hospital expenses, medications and daily living costs, and ensure he has the support he needs during this critical time. It’s likely this will impact Adam’s ability to live a normal life for the next 2+ years, with a series of surgeries needed to keep him alive.
Adam is too weak to reply to messages via socials but knows that we all have him in our minds.
Every donation helps and means the world.
Thank you.
