Our beloved friend, son, and brother, John, is just 24 years old, a vibrant, driven young man with his whole life ahead of him. But recently, our world changed when John was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a rare and devastating neurodegenerative disease that slowly robs individuals of their ability to move, speak, and eventually breathe.
Despite the diagnosis, John has faced this unimaginable challenge with courage, grace, and determination. Refusing to give in to hopelessness, he and his family have taken a proactive approach, seeking out integrative and alternative treatments in hopes of slowing progression, preserving quality of life, and staying strong for as long as possible.
These therapies, which include Stem cells, hyperbaric chamber, nutritional IVs, functional medicine protocols, physical therapies, and specialized care, are showing promising effects, but they come at a cost. Most are not covered by insurance, and the ongoing expenses for medical equipment, travel to specialists, accessibility modifications, and 24/7 caregiving support are rapidly rising.
