I’m raising funds for Albert for medical bills and to cover his house, vehicle, gas to and drs and other financial costs while on dialysis and before and after a kidney transplant.
Albert was diagnosed years ago with type 2 diabetes. He has had chronic kidney disease for a while now but has just been diagnosed with stage 5 CKD. His kidneys are only functioning at 12% now. He has to go on life-saving dialysis and will be put on a kidney list. He has to get a new kidney. I am donating mine, which means if we match, he could have it in as little as 6 months or less. But if we don’t match, mine goes into a pool and goes to someone it does match, and Albert will be on top of the list for the next matching live donor’s kidney from the pool of donors. This also means we will BOTH be down and healing once a transplant is done. This is the only way to save his life.
Albert isn’t comfortable asking for help, especially for money. So I’m doing this to help him so he doesn’t lose his house and vehicle and to pay medical costs, gas for 3 days a week to dialysis (2-hour round trip each time) to help lower his stress and worry about how he’s going to pay for things. Any contribution would mean the world to him.
He has spent most of his life falling trees for various logging companies all over the US, and being in the mountains cutting is his happy place. Please help him to continue doing what he loves.
He’s only 59, but he has had a lot of stress on him since the sad passing of his beloved wife only a year and a half ago.
On a last note: it takes on average 5 years to get a deceased donor. Albert’s best chance at survival is a living donor.
If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a living donor, please reach out to myself or Albert.
Please share this, and we sincerely thank you for your compassion and support during this difficult time.
