Hello. My name is Leslie Harris and I am 42 years old and recently I have been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. This is a shock because colon cancer does not run in my family and I thought I was going to the ER for a gall stone or something much simpler health wise. Only to be told by the ER doctor that I had stage 4 cancer. This was truly heartbreaking as I had no idea that this was going on for so long. Up to this point I was working 50 hours a week and having no other health issues. I have since the diagnosis started chemotherapy both with a pump and pills daily to fight back against the cancer in my liver and my colon. I am a fighter and will not give up with out a fight, however, I can not work with the amount of fatigue and current pain I am in. Everyday is a blessing and everyday my goal is to get my life back. One step at a time and one day at a time and the goal is to be cancer free and resume my life working, traveling and being a normal human being again.
God has played a huge part in recovery and he has the power to keep moving forward to my ultimate goal and he has the power to heal me from within.
unfortunately this all comes with a heavy cost. The medical bills are racking up even though insurance is covering a majority of the bills but there’s always that high deductible payment that has to be met! We are raising money to cover the high deductible cost since I have lost $3200 a month in wages. Anything you can give to help is greatly appreciated and I am humbled already by those who have already reached out to help!
May God continue to bless me and the others around me helping to get through this trying time in my journey through life.
