Hi, my name is Luis Otero, and I’m the Office Manager at a pediatric dental office. I’m writing this with a heavy heart on behalf of one of the most dedicated, intelligent, compassionate, and genuinely kind people I’ve had the privilege to work with, our ops team lead Yohanna Robles.
Recently, while on vacation Memorial Day weekend in the Dominican Republic, Yohanna was in a devastating ATV accident. A trip that she was looking forward to for so long, to visit family and have a great time, went horribly wrong and now her life has been turned upside down.
Yohanna suffered multiple severe injuries, including:
• A serious back injury
• Several broken ribs
• A dislocated jaw
• A head injury
She was rushed to the hospital and underwent multiple emergency surgeries to stabilize her condition and begin the healing process. Yohanna is still in the Dominican Republic recovering from back surgery. She faces a long road to recovery, including months of physical therapy, rehabilitation, and possibly additional surgeries.
Yohanna was days away from graduating from EFDA school and was going to be one step closer to achieving her long-term goal of becoming a dentist. Now that has been postponed and she faces many challenges in the future.
Those of us who work with Yohanna know that she is the heart of our ops team. Her passion for patient care, her leadership, and her ability to bring calm and compassion to every child and parent who walks through our doors are unmatched. Our hearts are broken and the team is lost without her. She does so much for us and is always happy to help anyone, and now, it’s our turn to give back to her.
We’re raising funds to help Yohanna cover:
• Medical expenses not fully covered by insurance
• Physical therapy and continued treatment
• Living expenses while she is unable to work
• Any additional care she may need during her recovery.
No contribution is too small. If you’re not in a position to donate, we ask that you please share this campaign and keep Yohanna in your thoughts and prayers.
Let’s come together to support this incredible woman as she begins to rebuild and recover. On behalf of all of us, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
With gratitude,
Luis Otero
