Please Help a Queer Trans Maker Heal After a Devastating Accident
A beloved maker in our creative community is facing an overwhelming crisis after a serious hit and run car accident left them with extensive injuries. They were out of their car at the time. They are currently dealing with significant trauma to their muscles, connective tissue, and spine. Movement is extremely limited, sensation in their hands comes and goes, and they are unable to care for their most basic daily needs.
As complications from impact, blood loss, and nerve trauma continue to emerge, the outlook is daunting. The estimated recovery time is six to twelve months if all goes well. During this time, their ability to work will be drastically reduced, and medical costs continue to mount. Right now the estimate is at $15,000.
This person is queer and trans and does not have a family of origin to fall back on. Right now, they are feeling depleted, defeated, and desperate. They are afraid of losing their housing and stability while trying to survive and heal.
We are not sharing their name or personal details publicly in order to protect their safety, but the need is real and urgent. This campaign was created to help with medical care, basic living expenses, and day-to-day survival through a long and painful recovery.
If you are able to give, please do. If you can share this, thank you. Every act of care makes a difference.
Let’s show this maker they are not alone.
