Help Maki live a longer life

Hello and thank you all for your time for reading this. My name is Ciara I am 23 years old and desperately need help for my childhood dog Maki. Maki is a 14 year old Maltipoo and is the light of my life. At the age of 9, I begged my parents for a dog and have been blessed to be taking care of him these last 14 years. Maki has made a huge impact on everyone he has met in my life. He has been there at my lowest moments and my highest and I can’t imagine a life without him. We unfortunately found out that Maki has a heart murmur and recently has started having Syncope episodes. It is a temporary loss of consciousness caused by insufficient blood flow to the brain. It’s often triggered by an underlying condition like heart disease, low blood pressure, or an irregular heartbeat. Now that it is getting hotter outside, Maki can no longer enjoy longer walk without collapsing. I fear that he is suffering from heart disease which is common for dogs his age and my anxiety has grown more and more everyday. After speaking with the veterinarian, we learned that surgery can cost anywhere from $15,000-$20,000 and the risk of complications is much higher for senior dogs. Dogs diagnosed with congestive heart failure typically have a life expectancy ranging from 6 months to 2 years. Maki is still very active and energetic everyone that meets him thinks he’s still a puppy. Unfortunately, my family and I can’t even afford an echocardiogram which is over $1000 and I am asking if anyone would be kind enough to help with costs for tests and medications so Maki can live more comfortably and just a little longer. Maki is my entire life and I’m not ready to say goodbye. Anything helps and it would take a huge weight off my shoulders. Thank you.
