Support Makayla’s Liver Transplant Journey

My name is Misty, and I’m raising funds to support my 16-year-old daughter, Makayla, who is currently facing liver failure and a serious blood clotting disorder. For the past six months, our lives have been turned upside down as we navigate her medical needs. Makayla is now on the liver transplant list, and we have to make frequent trips from our home in Arkansas to St. Louis for her check-ups and ongoing care. Each trip is a seven and a half hour drive, and we have to make many stops along the way to accommodate her health needs. The cost of travel, food, and basic necessities quickly adds up, and it’s become increasingly difficult to keep up with everything.

On top of the travel and medical challenges, I recently lost my job due to the time I need to care for Makayla. This has made it even harder to cover our monthly bills and ensure Makayla gets the medications she needs, especially since not all of her prescriptions can be transferred to Arkansas. The uncertainty and stress are overwhelming, but I am determined to do everything I can for my daughter.

Makayla is a bright and ambitious young person with big dreams. She hopes to attend business school and eventually open her own salon, combining her love for business with her passion for hair and makeup.
