Hi everyone! My name is Taylor! A little bit about me is that I love reading, writing, hiking, learning new things, and my cats.
In 2017 I had a major surgery. Following that procedure, I was left fighting for my life to heal. Not long after I had ANOTHER emergency major surgery that took everything out of me. I had to learn to walk, run, and ride my bike all over again. Months of grueling physical therapy helped me to regain all of that.
During ALL of this, I was then diagnosed with focal epilepsy, kikuchi fujimoto disease, stills disease, immunocompromised, anemia, and malabsorption. Most cause extreme seizures, fatigue, joint/muscle pain, weakness, the inability to control body temperature, swollen lymphnodes, passing out, and more. These problems have also caused my POTS condition to become unmanageable.
Everything has completely eliminated my ability to work safely since 2017.
Hello, my name is Nico, and Taylor is the love of my life. All I want is to help her get better and live together safely. Hopefully with less worries about her health. I have been trying to get her the help she needs but the health care system does not make it easy. I am a journeyman in HVAC-R and work during most hours that doctors and offices are open. This, on top of expenses makes it more difficult than I could have imagined.
We plan to get married, but we must post pone all of that until we are safer, more settled in a home, and can afford to.
We have a few thousand in medical bills. I have over $6000 of my $7000 credit limit used due to unforeseen medical bills and other related expenses.
There are multiple doctors that we need to get Taylor to.
With her health insurance right now, we are most likely going to have to pay much more out of pocket to find the right help.
Since we have been together, I have seen Taylor in an emergency induced coma and another induced coma so they could run tests. The emergency induced coma was the scariest thing I have experienced. I truly thought I was losing her. I am so grateful she is so strong and made it through this, but I constantly catch her from passing out or having a seizure because of sound or flashes. We are learning how to minimize triggers and keep her safe together. However, the expenses have gone past our ability to handle on our own. We both love helping people every chance we get but this time we need to ask for others help.
All of this is causing a huge financial burden on myself, Nico, and family. Many doctors or specialists are far away or unfortunately do not take my health insurance, which in turn, we pay for in order to see who I NEED to see. Between cost of caring for me, travel to/from doctors, tolls, medical bills coming in… it’s been too much. Survival has been a struggle, so we are reaching out for help financially. The state of New Jersey has thus far denied my disability twice since they state my diseases doesn’t qualify for aid. Can you believe that epilepsy doesn’t qualify for aid?
Thank you to all who took the time to read this and took time out of your busy lives. We deeply appreciate all who understand our situation and who can extend any form of assistance.
