Hi, I’m Corinthian’s dad. For the past year, my son (we call him CK) has been battling osteosarcoma—a rare bone cancer—while also navigating life with autism. It’s been a fight no kid should have to face, and as a single father with one income, I’ll be honest: We’re stretched thin.
The Backstory
Last July, CK’s shoulder started swelling with no explanation. After weeks of tests (and a biopsy sent across three states), we got the diagnosis: bone cancer. Since then, it’s been chemo every week, a major surgery at UCLA to replace his bone with a metal rod, and now the slow grind of recovery—all while CK deals with autism’s extra challenges. He can’t tell me how much pain he’s in, so we have to read his cues. Hair loss, nausea, fevers? He takes it all in silence. But he’s tougher than anyone I know.
Why We Need Help
Single Income, Double Duty -As a solo dad, I’ve had to cut work hours to be at CK’s appointments. My sister Kenyatta moved in to help (she’s been a lifeline), but that means her income is limited. Between hospital stays, chemo side effects, and CK’s daily care, we’re juggling more than we can handle.
weekly drives to chemo, prescription co-pays, protein shakes to keep weight on CK—it adds up fast. Recovery means physical therapy, too, and insurance doesn’t cover everything.
The Bigger Picture – Right now, my focus has to be CK’s health. But rent, utilities, and groceries don’t stop. Any support would let me breathe easier so I can pour everything into his healing.
Where Funds Will Go
– Medical expenses not covered by insurance
– Adaptive tools for CK’s recovery (therapy equipment, etc.)
– Household basics so I can keep the lights on while caring for him full-time
No Pressure, Just Gratitude
If you can give, thank you. If you can’t, please keep CK in your prayers—that’s just as powerful. We’re not asking for a handout, just a hand up while we get through this storm. CK’s got a long road ahead, but with his strength and your support, I know he’ll keep proving doctors wrong.
**Thank you for seeing us, for rooting for CK, and for being part of his fight.**
