It’s not easy for me to post this because you know how private and independent my family is, but it’s at the point where loving assistance from family and friends is urgently needed. My father Roger was recently diagnosed with an extremely rare cancer that only affects 5% of cancer patients. Even with insurance covering most of the cost, it’s still thousands and thousands of dollars that need to be paid out of pocket. He needed and still needs extra testing, as well as the surgeries that he’s already had, and the surgeries he still needs to undergo. His medications, supplies, and travel back and forth to Yale are also adding up. He cannot work, and my mom had to cut back on most of her work to be there for him, so there is not enough income coming in. A lot of these costs have to be paid upfront without any payment plan options. I help them as much as I can, but it’s not enough. Anything you’re able to give will be helpful and appreciated and go directly to his treatments. He and my mom have been married for 51 years and this is the worst thing that they have had to go through together, but with faith in God, and with the support from all of you, they can get through this.
