So towards the end of December 2024, my boyfriend, soulmate, and best friend, ended up stopping breathing on me. So I told him when I got him breathing again that he could either go to the hospital in his truck, or I was calling the ambulance. Well, long story short, he has been diagnosed with Congenital Heart Failure. In December, the doctors told him his heart was only functioning at 18%. But in February, on Valentine’s Day, he ended up having a heart attack. He had 3 pulmonary embolisms in his heart and one in each of his lungs. Then the doctor explained that he will not make it through another scare like these and that he needs to stay on the medication called Eliquis and that he needs to not miss it at any time. Well, I’m doing my best to apply for him medical through DWS, and it’s not working out. His medication out of pocket for just the Eliquis, not the 12 medications that he’s been prescribed, is over $900. Since December, I became his full-time caregiver, and he was laid off his job of 10 years due to this medical emergency, happening as well as me. I have filed with trajectory disability, but that won’t take effect for 6 months to a year. I am asking friends and family members that care to please help me get his next month’s medication! He’s been faithfully taking this medication now since February, and if I can’t help him get this money for out-of-pocket pricing, he could die. I have re-applied for him for Medicaid, but he will be out of the Eliquis before the almost month to get all that sorted out. Whatever anyone could do would help with taking a lot of stress off my shoulders, as well as make sure he does not die! His young, and has his 5 kids that also need him here with them! So please anything helps!
Thank you so much!
