If you’ve known me for a while, you know that I used to go on solo camping trips, hikes, and walks around the neighborhood every single day. It has been 2 years since I have been able to go for a walk. With Lipedema getting worse in the past couple years, it has taken more of my mobility and made my baseline pain a 6/10.
Being outside in nature has been huge for my mental health, as well as being in community with my friends in other places than my patio.
My world has gotten so small. If I had this scooter, it would give me the freedom to be out more and be with nature and friends. I need this.
I have done the math and tried to figure out a way to pay for this myself and I just cannot afford it- even with monthly payments. With a big move in March to a more accessible place, I’ve got to set aside anything leftover from checks for that. I work as a therapist in community mental health and the pay ain’t great.
If you could pitch in any amount, it’d mean the world to me. Also happy to paint for you if you’d like a watercolor painting for $100. Also- my birthday is on the 15th ☺️
