Support Baird Harbin’s Urgent Heart Surgery

Hello all who have found their way here and have a moment to listen to what the Harbin family has going on

I am Lexy Harbin, Baird’s wife

Together we’ve built a life we both love, complete with our daughter and son, Alli and Jackson!

As many of you know, Baird was born with a heart condition as a Group B Strep baby.

The medical journey he’s been through over his lifetime has been a challenging one, even with the best of advocates like his mom Stephani by his side, fighting for his best interest and health.

We’ve known for a while he would need a heart valve replacement, and we all expected it to be needed by age 30. He made it all the way to 35, doing his best to put it off as safely as possible so the next valve lasts him per the doctor’s orders.

About a year ago, Baird’s symptoms started to become worrisome. He is stubborn and steadfast in his need to care for his family first, and it took some convincing to get him back to the cardiologist.

Once there, he was advised that he needed a mechanical valve replacement, and quickly.

They’ve already, within a month’s time, gotten him through all his pre-diagnostics and outpatient anatomy checks to make sure he’s ready to go for open chest surgery within the next 30 days.

Scary words like “urgent” are thrown around by doctors and it’s never something you want to hear, but it is especially not when you’re in your mid-30s.

We had hoped it would not be so invasive – all the advice before had told us it would not be open heart, but with this being the only option, not only do the medical bills increase, so does the recovery and out-of-work time for my husband.

We are following up with other appropriate resources, but we were hoping to be able to bring this huge problem to the village we have both spent a lifetime building and ask for y’all’s help!

These funds will help cover bills, childcare while I work, and medical fees for Baird as he goes through this.

We’ve been told his surgery will be for sure booked within the next 30 days, so we’re spreading the word.

We completely understand if you’re not in a place to donate, and we appreciate you just listening and praying for us.

Lots of love and light to our friends and family
