Right now, I am unable to go to church, shop, or participate in social activities unless someone is available to accompany me. While I am grateful for my supportive family and friends, they all have busy lives and can’t always be there when I need them. A wheelchair accessible van would allow me to regain my independence, safely get to appointments, and rejoin the activities that mean so much to me. My fixed income from Social Security Disability and Retirement benefits makes it impossible to afford a van on my own, and my credit situation prevents me from qualifying for a loan.
I was raised to value independence, and I have always taken pride in living a full, active life. Volunteering with my church, working with teens, and supporting my community are all deeply important to me. As my mobility decreases, I am determined not to let it take away my ability to contribute and stay connected. Your support will help me maintain my dignity, independence, and the meaningful life I have built.
