My name is Julio Vasquez, though many of you know me as “Andy.” I grew up right here in Worcester, Massachusetts, in Lincoln Village. I’m a hardworking, loving single father and the sole provider for six amazing children, two older ones and four little ones. Whether you know me from back in the day, work, sports, church, or just from crossing paths in life, I’m reaching out to share what’s been going on in my journey.
For the past few years, I’ve been battling kidney failure and have been receiving dialysis three times a week, for four hours each session. This treatment has kept me alive, and I’m grateful for that, but it has also changed my life drastically. I’ve been unable to work or do many of the things I used to enjoy.
I’m currently on the donor list, which is a blessing, but the journey to find a living donor is not an easy one. Every person’s path is different, and while I stay strong through this process, my symptoms have grown more challenging over time. Still, my family, friends, and I remain hopeful; we believe that God will provide.
We are in search of a living kidney donor, a match that could give me a second chance at life.
