Hello, my name is Luis Valdez, and I’m from San Antonio, Texas. Life can change in an instant — and for me, it did.
Just a few months ago, I was a healthy, hardworking man doing everything I could to provide for my family. I worked full-time in construction, and I took pride in being the one people could rely on. But after a severe car accident left me with multiple fractures and months of recovery ahead, everything came to a halt.
The Impact
The accident fractured both my legs and dislocated my shoulder. I’ve undergone two surgeries so far, with another one scheduled in the coming weeks. I’m currently unable to walk without assistance and will need physical therapy for at least 4–6 months.
Being unable to work means I’ve lost my primary source of income. While I’m applying for temporary disability, it doesn’t cover rent, food, or basic living expenses for my family — let alone medical costs that aren’t fully insured.
A Father’s Responsibility
I’m a father, a husband, and someone who doesn’t ask for help easily. But right now, I’m humbly reaching out. I’m doing everything I can to stay positive, stay strong, and fight my way back to being the provider and protector my family knows me to be.
Goal: $6,200
This campaign will help cover:
Physical therapy and out-of-pocket medical costs – $2,100
Rent and utilities for the next 2 months – $2,400
Groceries and transportation for medical appointments – $800
Emergency expenses and equipment (walker, braces, etc.) – $900
Why It Matters
This accident may have shaken me, but it hasn’t broken me. I believe in getting up again — even if it takes longer this time. With your help, I can focus on healing, instead of worrying whether the lights will stay on.
If you’re able to donate or share this campaign, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every bit of support makes a real difference.
With gratitude,
Luis A. Valdez
