Help Randi Access Her Home Safely

We are looking for a little help to finance a deck for the entrance to our house.

For anyone who has known us for a long time knows we aren’t ones to ask for help.

My wife, Randi, broke her ankle on May 25th and had surgery on May 29th. With this type of break to the Tibia and Fibula, she can not bear any weight on her leg for a minimum of 6 weeks after the surgery. A plate and 13 screws.

Randi is not a crutch person. She fell the day after the ER visit, using crutches, trying to get into the house. Thankfully, our neighbor has loaned us a knee scooter, and she moves easily about the house.

Our walkway into the house from the driveway was made for a healthy, mobile person. I want to build a deck at our entrance. We need to eliminate the stepping stones, cobble stones, and one step down, followed by the incline, finished by the step up into the house. I have come up with a design to hopefully eliminate all of that and make it so that even a wheelchair could be easily taken from the driveway to the front door.

To top it off, we just discovered we have to get our septic pumped out.

Because of Randi’s broken ankle, we will most likely not be able to vend at the upcoming Blacksheep Gathering. This will be a missed financial opportunity for us.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
